Loligo Squid (Loligo opalescens, Loligo reynaudi, Loligo vulgaris) is a lean species found in the Eastern Pacific, the South-East Atlantic (South Africa and Namibia) and the North-East Atlantic and the Mediterranean. Its flesh is tender when properly cooked, which makes it well suited to frying, grilling, stews and rice dishes.
Gialmar supplies Loligo Squid frozen. Lots are received, checked and stored at our IFS Food-certified plants in Tondela and Lajedo, so you can order from stock in Portugal all year round.
We supply Loligo Squid to wholesalers, retailers, restaurants, caterers, processors and importers in Portugal and international markets. Every lot is traceable from origin to delivery under our HACCP plan and IFS Food certification. MSC-certified supply is available for specific lines only, so please ask before ordering.
