About Gialmar
A Portuguese fish and seafood company built on three generations of the fresh fish trade.
From the fresh fish trade to industrial processing
Gialmar – Produtos Alimentares, S.A. was founded in 1993 by Gilberto Neves Coimbra. He continued the business of the Coimbra family, who had worked in the fresh fish market for several generations.
The ability to buy and sell every species of fresh fish allowed the company to grow, and in 2003 Gialmar expanded into freezing and processing. Industrial customers needed better ways to preserve fish, so the company added an industrial arm to its trading activity.
Today Gialmar is a national and international reference in the sector. Its mission rests on two things: developing its team, and handling every product to the standards of IFS Food certification.
