Cold-chain logistics
Our own refrigerated fleet and port branches keep fish cold from the auction to your door.
A fleet built for fresh and frozen fish
Every Gialmar truck is fitted with a refrigeration unit, so we carry fresh fish on ice and frozen product at −18 °C or below. Routes link the port branches, our Tondela and Lajedo units and customers' premises.
Branches at Matosinhos, Aveiro, Figueira da Foz, Peniche, Sesimbra and MARL (Lisbon) receive fish from the local auctions and send it on under controlled temperature. Each delivery is planned around the product and the delivery window agreed with the customer.

Four steps from the sea to your cold store
The same team controls every step, which keeps lead times short and traceability complete.
Buying at the port
Our branches buy at the daily auctions and pre-chill the fish.
Grading and processing
Fish is graded, and if needed frozen, cut and packed at Lajedo.
Storage
Fresh product is kept at 0–2 °C, frozen product at −18 °C or below.
Delivery
Refrigerated trucks deliver within the agreed window.
Packing and temperature control
Fresh fish travels in insulated boxes with ice, at a temperature close to that of melting ice. Frozen fish and cephalopods are packed in bags, trays or bulk cartons, as whole frozen product, blocks or individually quick-frozen pieces, and kept at −18 °C or below.
Each delivery note identifies the species, presentation, lot and catch area, so your team can check the goods on arrival and keep traceability records complete. If a delivery arrives outside the agreed temperature, tell us immediately and we will resolve it.
