Monkfish (Lophius vomerinus, Lophius litulon) supplied wholesale by Gialmar

Overview

Monkfish (Lophius vomerinus, Lophius litulon) is a lean species found in the South-East Atlantic (South Africa and Namibia) and the North Pacific. Its flesh is dense and meaty, which makes it well suited to stews, rice dishes, grilling and oven baking.

Gialmar supplies Monkfish frozen. Lots are received, checked and stored at our IFS Food-certified plants in Tondela and Lajedo, so you can order from stock in Portugal all year round.

We supply Monkfish to wholesalers, retailers, restaurants, caterers, processors and importers in Portugal and international markets. Every lot is traceable from origin to delivery under our HACCP plan and IFS Food certification. MSC-certified supply is available for specific lines only, so please ask before ordering.

Available presentations: Whole, Fillets and Chunks. To receive a quotation, tell us the presentation, size grade, glazing for frozen product, packing format, volume and delivery point. We do not publish a price list, because prices follow season and landings; we confirm them per order.

Store frozen Monkfish at −18 °C or below. Thaw slowly in the refrigerator at 0–4 °C and do not refreeze after thawing.
